LEONARD COHEN NIGHT 2011
Singer-songwriters and recording artists Crystal Plamondon, Ido van der Laan, and Janaya Ellis share the stage at La Cite Francophone (8627-91 street) September 17 for Leonard Cohen Night 2011. Tickets for the 8 p.m. concert, which includes Anna Marie Sewell, City of Edmonton Poet Laureate, are available now at lcnight2011@gmail.com or at the door on Saturday, September 17, 2011starting at 5:00 p.m. While you are picking up your tickets, consider having dinner at BISTRO LA PERSAUD: 8627-91 Street, with free parking in the parking lot just north of the building.
Crystal Plamondon is a talented bilingual singer, songwriter, and performer with a twenty-year track record of consistently delivering passionate concerts that cover an emotional range from heartwarming ballads to rockin’ country, roots and cajun. Whether performing with her high-powered five-piece band, an acoustic ensemble, or covering classic jazz standards in her new TORCH act, Crystal never fails to connect with her audience. For this event, Crystal will interpret Leonard Cohen.

Une soirée célébrant Léonard Cohen
C’est avec honneur que La Société Cohenights Arts Society va célébrer le 77e anniversaire du célèbre montréalais, Léonard Cohen. Cette soirée aura lieu à l’uni théâtre situé dans la Cité francophone ce samedi, 17 septembre à 20h00. La vedette principale appelée à interpréter les œuvres du célèbre M. Cohen sera Crystal Plamondon, notre franco-albertaine de renommée internationale! Son nouveau disque intitulé « Torch » inclue la chanson “Song of Bernadette”, qui raconte l’histoire d’une jeune Française qui a vu la vierge à plusieurs reprises. A celebration of the music and poetry of our Man – Leonard Cohen
September 17, 2011
EDMONTON, AB – August 25, 2011- Leonard Cohen Night returns to Edmonton, Saturday, September 17, 2011 with an evening of poetry and song.
The Cohenights Arts Society presents the 9th annual Leonard Cohen Night in celebration of the 77th birthday of Canada’s favourite poet by featuring the talent of Albertan performers. Crystal Plamondon, Ido van der Laan, and Janaya Ellis of Souljah Fyah will offer their interpretations of the works of Leonard Cohen. As well, the Cohenights Arts Society is pleased to invite Edmonton’s new Poet Laureate to the stage: Anna Marie Sewell.
The show will be held at La Cite Francophone 8627 rue Marie-Anne-Gaboury (91 street). It starts at 8:00 p.m.
